Meet Gosia - Owner of Atelier Godiva
My name is Malgorzata Maria Stankiewicz, but usually I go with the slightly easier ‘Gosia’. I was born in a small town in Poland, in 1967, which means I grew up under communist rule. Needless to say, by any modern standards my family was poor. Beautiful clothing and other luxuries were uncommon, and very much things to be treasured.
Despite many troubles, the women in my family were always strong-willed, creative and resourceful. Their strength taught me you can create your own beauty, with your own two hands. This passion is one of the driving forces behind ‘Atelier Godiva’.
I have been making my own clothing since I was sixteen and I have had a formal tailoring education. After moving to the Netherlands 26 years ago my professional life has revolved around fashion. I have accumulated extensive experience in the industry, from bridal fashion to mainstream, from retail and shop manager to bespoke designing.
I very much enjoy helping others further develop their own talents. Lately, giving workshops and private lessons has become a very satisfying addition to my work.

What’s in a name? The idea ‘Godiva’ sparked from the notion that strong, modern women are by definition divas. For what is a diva if not confident, passionate and stylish?
Unique
Handmade items have this peculiar property: they are never 100% identical. We combine inspiration, craftsmanship (and hard work) to bring you these one-of-a-kind pieces!
Wearable
It is definitely OK to stand out, but we prefer a pleasant wow-factor when doing so! Quality shows, and our collection is well-suited for many occasions.
